Salt, June 25 (Petra) – The cabinet passed a package of measures, part of a scheme to modernize public sector leadership, streamline government structures, and boost vocational education in a session held in Balqa Governorate.

Minister of Government Communication and Spokespreson Mohammad Momani announced the approval of the “Future Leadership Management Instructions 2025,” aimed to prepare young public servants for supervisory and executive roles through structured training tracks. The initiative backs up the government’s broader public sector modernization strategy.

In education and labor reform, the ministers endorsed a draft regulation to restructure funding and oversight for vocational and technical training. It includes transferring existing support funds to the Ministry of Labor and the Higher Council for Science and Technology, following the merger of key regulatory bodies. The reform aims to enhance efficiency, improve service quality, and consolidate resources.

The ministers also approved the expansion of Al-Dulayl Development Zone by 450 dunums to attract more industrial investment, supporting Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision.

On urban policy, a draft amendment to Amman’s building regulations was approved to extend the deadline for property owners to rectify violations, offering fee reductions to encourage compliance.

Momani said the government continues to monitor regional developments to assess the impact on tourism, reiterating support of initiatives to revitalize the sector.

Also during the session, the ministers appointed a new Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority board of commissioners as part of ongoing administrative restructuring.
