Industrial City Localises 17 Projects in 2024Muscat, 29 Jun (ONA) — Al Rusayl Industrial City, affiliated
to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”, signed 17 contracts
in 2024 to establish projects covering an area of more than 235,000 sqm. The projects
attracted investments exceeding RO 49 million and covering industrial,
logistics and service sectors. Since its establishment in 1983, Al Rusayl Industrial
City has played a central role in providing an appropriate business environment and
supporting government efforts aimed at achieving economic diversification in line with
Oman Vision 2040.Eng. Fahad bin Nasser Al Abrawi, Acting CEO of Al Rusayl
Industrial City company, said that cumulative investments in the city stood at more than RO 767 million by the end of 2024. The investments helped generate projects that covered nearly 11 million sqm area, he added. He pointed out that the industrial city hosts
activities that included chemical products, electrical materials, building materials,
fibre optic cables, food products, textiles, stationery, paints, filters and
furniture.Madayn is currently carrying out several strategic
projects at Al Rusayl Industrial City, including the infrastructure project of Madayn
Entrepreneurial Complex in cooperation with the SMEs Development Authority, Al
Abrawi added.He explained that the complex covers an area of more
than 60,000 sqm of industrial workshops aimed at supporting small and medium
enterprises. (SMEs).He said that a consultancy project is underway to introduce infrastructure
improvements at Al Rusayl Industrial City, noting that the project focuses on dealing with
the accumulation of rainwater in adjoining areas through the construction of new
alternative roads to access the some leased lands.He added that approved future projects include the
redevelopment of the commercial area with a view to expanding the capacity of
the retail area, the establishment of an integrated project to support food
security in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water
Resources and a project for sustainable wastewater recycling aimed to support
industrial cooling and manufacturing operations within Al Rusayl Industrial
City. In 2024, Madayn completed the modernisation of the
industrial city’s main entrance through the introduction of a state-of-the-art
design, reflecting the facility’s pledge to become an attractive and modern
industrial hub.Meanwhile, Masar Service Centre in Al Rusayl
Industrial City plays a key role in streamlining investment procedures by
providing a unified platform for all required permits and licenses. The centre offers integrated support services, including consulting, financing, banking, medical checks, postal services,
marketing and promotion. This helps establish a seamless investor-friendly
business environment in the Sultanate of Oman.
