Lebanese President Demands Withdrawal of Israeli Forces from Five Hills Beirut, 30 Jun (ONA) — Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from five hills in the south to enable the Lebanese Army to complete its deployment up to the internationally recognized borders.
During his meeting today with the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) General Diodato Abagnara, President Aoun emphasized the importance of UNIFIL’s continued cooperation with the Lebanese Army to ensure full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli entity, which came into effect on 27 November 2024, stipulated that Israeli occupation forces withdraw from the southern Lebanese border villages and towns within 60 days. However the Israeli occupation forces have remained stationed at five points and continue to carry out violations.— Ends/Khalid
