Amman, July 2 (Petra) – One child died and seven others were injured in a fire that engulfed a house in a neighborhood of Amman on Wednesday, the Public Security Directorate spokesman said.
He said fire and ambulance crews of the Central Amman Civil Defense Directorate responded to a blaze in an apartment on the third floor of a building in the Prince Hassan neighborhood of East Amman this afternoon.
The spokesman said a four-year-old toddler died of severe burns and seven others suffered various burns and asphyxiation after inhaling gases from the blaze.
He said medics provided first aid to the injured children before rushing them to the Prince Hamzah Hospital, adding that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
