Amman, July 9 (Petra) — The Southern Military Zone early Wednesday thwarted an attempted infiltration by a drone on its western front within its area of responsibility.
A military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that “the Border Guard Forces in the Southern Military Zone successfully foiled a drone infiltration attempt that tried to cross the border.”
The source explained that rules of engagement were applied after detecting and tracking the drone, which was subsequently shot down inside Jordanian territory.
The source affirmed that the Armed Forces will respond with full strength and determination to any threat to the nation’s security and the safety of its citizens.
