
Oman-Cebu Investment Forum in Philippines Explores Opportunities, Bilateral CooperationCebu, 12 Jul (ONA) – The Oman-Cebu Investment Forum, held in the Republic of the Philippines, showcased investment opportunities and areas of bilateral cooperation between the two friendly nations.The event was organized by the Foreign Ministry, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and relevant authorities in Cebu.In his opening remarks at the forum, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of transforming existing friendly relations into mutual trade and investment partnerships by fostering a conducive environment and raising awareness of available opportunities. These include green and renewable energy, logistics, tourism, real estate development, food industries, healthcare, artificial intelligence, data centers, robotics, and information technology.He stated, “The Sultanate of Oman is a preferred destination for many Filipino workers, who have found a second home where they enjoy safety and respect. Around 50,000 Filipinos live in an environment marked by understanding and tolerance.” He added that this strong human foundation serves as a starting point for expanding cooperation beyond labour into trade and investment, opening wider horizons for the business communities of both Oman and the Philippines.The first edition of the Oman-Cebu Investment Forum aimed to promote cultural, commercial, tourism, and investment ties between Oman and the Philippines while enabling economic partnerships by providing an attractive platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaborations across various sectors of the two nations.The forum was attended by Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’awin, Minister of Labour, along with representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries.—- Ends/AH
