Jordanian, Palestinian officials talk transport cooperation, challenges

Amman, July 16 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport Fares Abu Dayyeh and Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Transport and Communications Mohammad Hamdan discussed cooperation in land transport and obstacles to passenger and goods movement.

The meeting, held on Amman on Wednesday, focused on facilitating smoother transit processes as Abu Dayyeh emphasised that the Jordanian government is committed to providing all necessary support to the Palestinian people in passenger movement across the King Hussein Bridge, urging joint training programmes.

In turn, Hamdan underscored the vital role of Jordan-Palestine cooperation in advancing the Palestinian transport sector, praising the Jordanian Ministry of Transport and the Land Transport Regulatory Commission in supporting Palestinian initiatives.

Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission Riyad Kharabsheh reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to improving passenger and freight transport services.

Kharabsheh stressed ongoing efforts to facilitate procedures in partnership with the Palestinians and pursue joint development initiatives that serve public interests and elevate the sector’s efficiency.
