Amman, July 17 (Petra) — Two Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) Black Hawk helicopters have been deployed earlier this evening to assist in battling extensive forest fires in the Sakib and Wadi Al-Sham areas of Jerash Governorate. The blazes have already consumed vast tracts of woodland.
The helicopters are working in tandem with Jerash Civil Defense units and other concerned agencies to contain the inferno and prevent its further spread. Their aerial support is critical due to the challenging terrain, which has made it impossible for ground-based Civil Defense vehicles to reach the fire’s epicenter.
The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) reaffirmed their standing commitment to dedicating their resources and capabilities to national efforts against natural disasters and emergencies. This aligns with their foundational role in supporting state institutions to enhance the national security framework.
