Amman, July 21 (Petra) – Belgian King Philippe called the current situation in the Gaza Strip a “disgrace to humanity”, and urged an immediate end to the crisis.
In a speech on the eve of Belgium’s National Day, King Philippe said civilians in Gaza are dying of starvation and bombing in a situation that has gone on far too long.
He said Belgium supports a call by U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for an immediate end to “this unbearable crisis”, and also urged Europe to show “stronger leadership” on the crisis in Gaza.
