Amman, Aug. 5 (Petra) – The Anti-Smuggling Directorate at the Jordan Customs Department has dismantled an unlicensed laboratory involved in the production of counterfeit pharmaceuticals bearing internationally recognized brand names.
In a statement released Tuesday, the department said the operation followed an extensive investigation and digital surveillance of a website promoting the fake products, which were confirmed to be counterfeit and pose significant health risks to the public.
A detailed seizure report was compiled, and the confiscated items were handed over to the competent authorities for further legal action.
The department stressed that safeguarding public health remains a top priority and urged the public to avoid purchasing or using products of unknown origin. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities via the hotline (105).
