Turkish Vessel SAFETT BEYDocks in Aqaba for First Time

Aqaba, Aug 10 (Petra) – The Turkish vessel SAFETT BEY has docked at Aqaba Port for the first time in the port’s history, distinguished by a special design that allows it to load and unload cargo from rear doors rather than side doors used by most ships calling at the facility.

Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management Director-General Mahmoud Khlaifat said the port’s operations teams handled the uniquely designed vessel with efficiency and skill, loading a large number of cars in a manner reflecting the professionalism of the port staff. He said the ship departed on schedule.

The vessel arrived from Jeddah Port en route to Port Said, with Aqaba now serving as a destination for all types of commercial vessels.

Aqaba’s main port meets international standards that have enabled it to maintain its operational efficiency and competitive edge among regional ports, supported by ongoing development and modernization plans implemented across all its facilities.
