Amman, August 11 (Petra) Director of the National Center for Epidemics and Disease Control Adel Balbeisi and the World Health Organisation (WHO) representative in Jordan, Iman Shanqeeti, discussed on Monday cooperation in public health.
In a meeting in Amman, Balbisi and Shanqeeti discussed supporting national efforts to prevent infectious diseases and bolstering national preparedness for future health challenges.
Balbeisi discussed the role of the WHO in supporting Jordan’s health system and urged of continued collaboration to bolster the country’s readiness to respond to epidemics and health emergencies.
Shanqeeti said the WHO is committed to deepening its partnership with the centre, especially amid evolving global health dynamics.
She underscored the need to strengthen disease surveillance and response systems, expand preventive health services and promote community awareness and education.
She called for robust cooperation mechanisms in combating communicable diseases and ensuring rapid, coordinated responses to emerging health threats.
