Armenia Hold 5th Round of Political Consultations in Yerevan
Yerevan,
12 Aug (ONA) — The 5th round of political consultations between
the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Armenia was held today in the
Armenian capital, Yerevan.
The
Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign
Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Armenian side was headed by Vahan
Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During
the session, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in various fields and
discussed ways to further develop this cooperation.
Sheikh
Khalifa expressed appreciation and welcomed Armenia’s decision to open a
resident embassy in Muscat and to exempt Omani citizens from tourist visas for
entry to Armenia. He also informed the Armenian side of Oman’s decision to
include Armenian citizens on its list of countries exempted from entry visas to
the Sultanate of Oman.
The
two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues
of mutual interest.
