Amman, August 13 (Petra) – Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Saud, checked on a number of water supply facilities during a tour on Wednesday, including King Abdullah Canal, Zai Water Station, Zara Ma’in Station, and Deir Alla Control Center.
According to a ministry statement, Abu Saud said the government, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and the Strategic Plan for the Water Sector (2023-2040), seeks to provide all services to citizens and ensure the “appropriate” conditions to secure continuity of public service in all regions under various circumstances.
The ministry, he stated, is dealing with providing water for various uses with the “highest degree of responsibility,” calling for intensifying efforts, especially with the ongoing heatwave, and mobilizing all field personnel to ensure “equitable” water distribution among citizens.
Briefed from those facilities’ directors on current efforts, he urged them to maintain the “highest levels of preparedness to deal with any emergency and quickly take the necessary measures to ensure continuity of water supply for various uses.”
Abu Saud urged citizens to rationalize water consumption amid the current weather conditions and adopt behaviors to preserve this vital resource.
