JPA Condemns Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel’ Remarks as Colonial Delusion

Amman, Aug 13 (Petra) – The Jordan Press Association (JPA) on Wednesday condemned in the strongest terms remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on what he called the “Greater Israel vision,” describing them as outdated colonial delusions reflecting an extremist mindset within his “fascist” government, aimed at shoring up support from the far right.

In a statement, the JPA said Netanyahu’s approach signals a drive to destabilize the region and constitutes a blatant violation not only of Jordan’s sovereignty but also that of other Arab states, in an attempt to impose an expansionist reality in defiance of international norms and laws, and in total disregard for the UN Charter.

The association reiterated its firm stance that all Jordanians stand united behind their Hashemite leadership, armed forces and national institutions, stressing that Jordan is too strong to be shaken by the “delusions of a troubled man” or the “resentments of his ministers,” and that its sovereignty is a red line that cannot be crossed.

It said Netanyahu’s remarks were nothing more than a desperate attempt to distract from his mounting domestic crises, internal failures and the scandals engulfing his extremist government.

The JPA called on Arab and international media to expose Netanyahu’s “criminal mindset” and to stop amplifying hate speech and ethnic cleansing rhetoric promoted by him and his governing partners. It stressed that Jordan will remain a steadfast barrier to any expansionist project, committed to supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights and to safeguarding Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
