Amman, Aug 20 (Petra) – The German government on Wednesday said it opposed an escalation of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, after Israel approved a plan to take control of Gaza City and ordered the call-up of about 60,000 reservists to join the operation.
According to Deutsche Welle, government spokesman Steffen Maier told a press conference that Berlin found it “increasingly difficult to understand how these measures will lead to the release of all hostages or to a ceasefire.”
