
Madaba, August 31 (Petra) –Minister of Social Development, Wafa Bani Mustafa, said Jordan’s charitable societies have achieved “significant” milestones in serving local communities, which contributed to stimulating the society level production.
Talking at a meeting Saturday with heads of women’s associations and initiatives in Dhiban and Mleih districts in central Madaba governorate, she added that the ministry targets the charitable sector by granting interest-free loans and supporting their productive projects within Productivity Enhancement and Cash Support Programs.
Bani Mustafa noted the Kingdom’s three political, economic, and administrative modernization paths, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and monitored by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, enhance presence of women and youth in decision-making processes.
The minister noted this effort also seeks to empower target groups politically and economically, which is a focus of the National Social Protection Strategy for the years 2025–2033.
Bani Mustafa called on associations to market their handicraft products via “Khairat Al Dar” platform, which is supervised by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship with engagement of Ministry of Social Development.
On future plans, she announced a corner will be allocated for these associations at the permanent exhibition to be held by the Ministry of Agriculture in Amman.
Bani Mustafa said the ministry supports ideas that create job opportunities or provide services to local communities, noting that the attendees’ demands will be examined and efforts will be made to achieve them within available capabilities.
During the meeting, the governorate’s deputies said these meetings reflect the government’s “seriousness in its work and achievement, which would positively impact the level of services provided to citizens.”
