Zarqa’s Commercial Exports Hit JD39.5 Million in August

Zarqa, Sep. 1 (Petra) — The Zarqa Chamber of Commerce reported that the value of commercial exports (re-exports) from the city of Zarqa reached JD39.5 million in August 2025, according to official data from certificates of origin issued by the chamber and its Free Zone office. A total of 337 export certificates were processed during the month.

Chamber President Hussein Shreim said in a statement on Monday that vehicles and automotive parts represented the largest share of Zarqa’s exports, followed by construction materials, sanitary products, pharmaceuticals, food items, clothing, jewelry, electronics, furniture, and stationery.

Despite the strong performance across key sectors, Shreim noted a decline in overall export value compared with July 2025, when exports totaled JD48.5 million, and with the same period in August 2024, when exports amounted to JD48 million.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing export competitiveness through better logistics, market diversification, and stronger support for exporters to sustain growth in Zarqa’s trade sector.
