Occupied Jerusalem, Sept 1 (Petra) – Jewish settlers on Monday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram Al Sharif in occupied Jerusalem, under escort by Israeli police.
Dozens of diehard settlers stormed the plaza of the mosque, one of Islam’s holiest shrines, and performed prayers in the latest in ongoing provocations as the occupation police imposed restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshippers.
The compound is expected to see further escalation during Jewish holidays this month and the next, when settlers and hardliners step up incursions and carry out prayers inside the complex.
Elsewhere, Israeli troops arrested 15 “wanted” Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said.
