Amman, September 2 (Petra) The Eastern Military Region successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics into Jordan using balloons guided by rudimentary navigation devices on Tuesday evening.
Border Guard forces operating in coordination with the relevant security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department detected and intercepted the balloons, shooting them down and seizing their cargo inside Jordanian territory.
The confiscated drugs were handed over to the competent authorities to initiate the necessary legal procedures.
