New York, Sept 3 (Petra) – United Nations Secretary-General Ant?nio Guterres expressed deep concern Wednesday over an incident on Tuesday in which Israeli drones dropped hand grenades near the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) positions.
A UN statement said the peacekeeping forces were carrying out their mandated duties in support of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Guterres stressed that any actions endangering the lives of peacekeepers are completely unacceptable and called on all parties to uphold their responsibilities to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and facilities.
