Occupied Jerusalem, Sept 8 (Petra) – Israeli extremists and settlers on Monday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram Al Sharif compound in occupied Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli police, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf (endowments) Department said.
Dozens of settlers made their way into the complex from the Bab Al Maghareba Gate and performed prayers on the plaza in an almost daily provocation against guards and Muslim worshippers, under the watchful eye of police.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli occupation forces arrested 16 Palestinians and demolished commercial facilities in new raids in half a dozen towns. Jewish settlers also continued rampages in a number of villages, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said.
It said troops in military jeeps stormed locations in Salfit, Jenin, Qalqilya, Hebron, Tulkarm, and Ramallah, rounding up the “wanted” people.
