Estonia Hold Political Talks
Muscat,
8 Sep (ONA) — A session of political
talks between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Estonia was
held today in Muscat.
The
Omani side was led by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the
Estonian side was led by Margus Tsahkna, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The
discussions covered the friendly relations and cooperation between the two
countries and explored ways to develop them and means of exploring partnership
opportunities.
Key
areas of focus included renewable energy, technology, artificial intelligence,
cybersecurity, and digital transformation, in addition to opportunities for
establishing investment partnerships between private sector institutions.
The
two ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional and international
issues of mutual interest. They emphasized the importance of continuing to work
together to promote security and stability and to advance channels of
constructive dialogue in accordance with international law, respect for
justice, and the independence and sovereignty of nations.
They
stressed the importance of continued dialogue and coordination to understand
and address various current global challenges.
The
talks were attended by Mundhir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe
Department at the Foreign Ministry. It was also attended by the Ambassador of
the Republic of Estonia to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of
officials from both sides.
