Irbid, Sep. 10 (Petra) – The Bani Obeid District Municipality on Wednesday announced the start of construction of the National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Genetics, which will serve the governorates of the Northern Region.
Located in the Sareeh area near the Fakhri Ajlouni Mosque, the four-story facility will be built on a 10-dunam site at a cost of JD5 million. Construction began this week and the project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
The municipality said the center will ease the travel burden for residents of the Northern Region and reduce pressure on the main facility in the capital. The center will feature integrated services, including specialized clinics for ophthalmology, cardiology, and neurology, and will provide comprehensive treatment for diabetes patients.
The municipality highlighted the project as a major addition to the health sector in the Northern Region and commended the efforts of all supporting entities.
