Oman
Participates in Meeting on National Economic Visions of GCC States Held in
Riyadh

Riyadh,
10 Sep (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman participated in the first meeting to
discuss the national economic visions of the GCC member states, held today at
the Secretariat General headquarters in Riyadh.

The
meeting addressed several important topics, most notably examining the common
pillars within the national visions and adopting a unified Gulf vision for
them. This includes aligning the national economic visions’ targets with the
GCC’s shared goals, without prejudice to the national priorities and policies
of member states.

The
Omani delegation was led by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Economy.

The
meeting was held in implementation of a resolution by the Permanent Preparatory
Ministerial Committee for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority at its
sixth meeting. The resolution called for a joint meeting at the level of senior
officials from member states to produce recommendations on the optimal ways to
achieve full mutual benefit in the field of national economic visions and to
form a committee to oversee cooperation in achieving and implementing the
economic visions in member states.

The
committee’s goals include coordinating joint efforts in economic visions to
achieve integration in the GCC’s common objectives while preserving the
uniqueness of each national vision. It also aims to build regular dialogue
platforms for specialized national bodies to exchange expertise and information
on monitoring and implementing national visions, and to discuss practical
solutions for common challenges in monitoring and implementing the economic
visions.
