New York, Sept 10 (Petra) – The United Nations Wednesday welcomed the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on “practical arrangements” for resuming inspections in Iran.
The UN described the agreement as a positive step toward the full resumption of cooperation required under Iran’s Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and expressed hope for its swift implementation.
Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric emphasized the importance of Iran’s full cooperation with the IAEA as a fundamental condition for establishing a long-term framework that ensures the Iranian nuclear program remains solely peaceful.
