Omani
Commercial Delegation Visits Zanzibar
Zanzibar,
11 Sep (ONA) — A delegation of Omani businesspeople concluded its visit to
the United Republic of Tanzania by visiting the city of Zanzibar. The visit was
organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and lasted for several
days.
During
the visit, the delegation met with several officials and their business
counterparts in Zanzibar to discuss cooperation and partnerships in the oil and
gas sectors.
Sharif
Ali Sharif, Minister of State in the Office of the President for Labour,
Economic Affairs, and Investment in the Zanzibar government, emphasized the
deep economic relations between the two friendly countries and his government’s
keenness to strengthen joint cooperation with Oman.
For
his part, Said bin Salim Al Sinawi, Oman’s Consul General in Zanzibar,
highlighted the importance of expanding the horizons of commercial and
investment cooperation to serve mutual interests.
Dr.
Salim bin Salim Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman
Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Al Wusta Governorate and head of the
delegation, stressed the importance of the historical commercial ties between
Oman and Tanzania and the need to build on this legacy to foster new
partnerships.
He
stated that the Omani commercial delegation’s visit aimed to explore available
investment opportunities across all economic sectors and to discuss the
possibility of commercial partnerships with their Tanzanian counterparts and open
new marketing channels for their products in both countries’ markets.
Bilateral
meetings were also arranged between businesspeople from both sides.
