JFDA shuts down unlicensed Amman dairy over rotten products, poor hygiene

Amman, Sept 13 (Petra) – The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), in cooperation with the Royal Department for Environment Protection, has shut down an unlicensed facility in Amman that was producing white cheese under poor sanitary conditions and storing rotten products infested with insects.

In a statement on Saturday, the JFDA said the premises were sealed with red wax, the owners referred to the competent authorities, and five tonnes of products were destroyed.

The administration stressed that inspection campaigns will continue to ensure safe and sound food for citizens, urging the public to buy such products only from licensed and trusted sources.

It also called on citizens to report any concerns, inquiries or complaints through its free hotline 117114, email at [[email protected]], or WhatsApp at 0795632000.
