Amman, Sept. 16 (Petra) — The Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army said Tuesday that troops from the Southern Military Region intercepted and downed two drones attempting to smuggle narcotics across the kingdom’s western border.
The army said in a statement that border guards detected the drones at dawn and engaged them under rules of engagement, bringing them down inside Jordanian territory.
The seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities, the statement added, noting that the operation was carried out in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.
