Amman, Sept. 16 (Petra)– Preliminary data from the Central Bank of Jordan showed that tourism revenue in August 2025 rose by 2.6 percent to $932.2 million, compared with a 0.3 percent decline in the same month last year.
Tourism revenue during the first eight months of 2025 increased by 7.5 percent to $5.33 billion, reversing a 3.7 percent decline recorded in the same period of 2024. The rise was mainly attributed to a 14.9 percent increase in the number of tourists.
The data indicated growth in tourism revenue from Asian nationalities (38.4 percent), European (30.2 percent), American (18.6 percent), Arab (5.5 percent), and other nationalities (34.0 percent). Meanwhile, revenue from Jordanian expatriates dropped by 1.3 percent.
The figures also showed that outbound tourism expenditure grew by 4.0 percent in the first eight months of 2025 to $1.44 billion. In August alone, expenditure rose by 4.5 percent, reaching $196.8 million.
