Jordan ‘firm’ on defending Arab issues-Political Affairs Minister

Ramtha, Sep.16 (Petra) – Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, will remain the “steadfast and unwavering voice of truth and the invincible shield” that defends issues of its Arab and Islamic nation, mainly Palestinian cause, in all regional and international forums, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdel Moneim Odat, said.

Odat made the remarks during his patronage of the closing ceremony of :”NAZAHA-Integrity: European Union Support for Social Accountability and Empowering Civil Society for Better Governance” project, implemented by Al Hayat Center-RASED at Jordan University of Science and Technology.

Talking at the ceremony, Odat noted the Kingdom continues to fulfill its mission by committing to its “firm, principled and unwavering” positions.

Odat stated Jordan will remain “proud, resilient, and resistant to those who attempt to tamper with its security and stability.”

Jordan, he said, is “steadily moving forward” with its comprehensive national modernization project, along three political, economic, and administrative tracks, in accordance with the Royal vision.

Odat noted good governance is the framework that makes Jordan’s policies “more just, our institutions more efficient, and our society more confident in its state.”

On its goals, he stated the Kingdom’s modernization project is based on consolidating the principles of good governance based on transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and the efficient management of public resources.

Odat highlighted the project’s importance and its role in raising awareness and empowering institutionalization of a culture of community oversight, which constitutes an “important” addition to Jordan’s national journey.

This process underscores that integrity and good governance are a shared responsibility among state institutions and civil society organizations, he pointed out.

In turn, representatives of the European Union and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation praised the project’s results, including the completion of the 2022 National Integrity Index and development of local initiatives that enhanced services and transparency.

Participants said partnerships among universities, municipalities, and civil society organizations constitute a national model that reflects Jordan’s commitment to governance and modernization.

Concluding the ceremony, discussion sessions presented joint recommendations and advocacy plans, emphasizing that integrity is a national responsibility shared by state institutions and society.
