Amman, Sep.16 (Petra) – The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee met Tuesday with American student delegation from School for International Training (SIT).
Committee Chair MP Dina Bashir noted Jordan’s strong ties with the U.S. across various fields, the political modernization process and reforms underway to empower women and younger Jordanians.
Bashir discussed the role of Jordanian diplomacy, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, as a model in fostering dialogue, resolving conflicts, and supporting regional stability.
Committee members Bakr Haisa, Mohammad Jarrah, and Mai Zayadneh reiterated Jordan’s positions under His Majesty’s leadership and that the Palestinian cause is central to the Kingdom. They called for the establishment of a Palestinian state and an immediate halt to the Israeli war on Gaza.
The meeting reviewed Jordan’s humanitarian efforts in hosting and supporting refugees.
