Amman, September 16 (Petra) – The Cybercrime Unit at the Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued on Tuesday a warning against the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
In a statement, the unit highlighted that some individuals are altering or combining images, audio and video clips to manipulate content. Such actions can confuse viewers and sometimes lead to harm or abuse of individuals on social media.
The unit explained that these falsified and combined images are often shared online or via applications for social, psychological or fraudulent purposes.
The Cybercrime Unit urges Jordanians to refrain from using AI tools to create, modify or edit images and videos in ways that violate privacy or spread false information, emphasising that such actions may result in legal consequences.
The Cybercrime Unit stated: Do not contribute to the spread of false and misleading images, videos or information. Use technology responsibly.
