
Zarqa, Sept 16 (Petra) – Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Tuesday toured a number of youth and sports facilities in Zarqa Governorate to assess their conditions, review their needs, and follow up on the programs and activities carried out by local youth centers.
During the visit, Adwan met with Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud to discuss ways of advancing youth work by strengthening the role of youth centers and sports facilities and providing a safe environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
In a separate meeting attended by Director of the Zarqa Youth Directorate Raed Abu Khalifa and Prince Mohammed Youth City Director Muath Abu Qudoura, the minister met with department heads and youth center supervisors. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to developing youth work by listening to young people’s demands, meeting their training needs, and creating an enabling environment that encourages their active participation in various programs.
He also underscored the importance of promoting volunteerism among young people, highlighting the role of the Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Service in recognizing outstanding contributions by individuals, institutions and teams, while reinforcing values of giving and belonging.
As part of the tour, Adwan inspected the ongoing construction of the semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool at Prince Mohammed Youth City, reviewed the readiness of the stadium’s pitch to host sports events, and checked the multipurpose hall.
At the conclusion of his visit, the minister stressed that the ministry remains committed to upgrading youth and sports infrastructure and expanding innovative programs that meet young people’s aspirations and enhance their positive engagement in community service.
