Cairo, Sep. 18 (Petra) – Arab Parliament President Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi commended Jordan’s efforts to reach a roadmap to resolve the crisis in the Syrian city of Sweida.
In this context, he pointed to Jordan’s efforts to reach this settlement after the Kingdom’s hosted the tripartite Amman meeting, which brought together Syrian Foreign Minister, US Special Envoy to Syria, and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
The president welcomed the roadmap announcement, aimed to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and uphold principle of national unity among all Syrians.
In a statement on Thursday, he affirmed the Arab Parliament’s “full” support for all efforts that would achieve Syria’s stability, support its people’s unity and enhance their aspirations for a dignified life in security, peace, and prosperity.
Al-Yamahi also called for building on this “important” step to preserve Syria’s national unity and promote its civil peace.
