Baghdad, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Monday the recognition of the State of Palestine by Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal, describing it as an important step in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their state on its full territory with Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed Iraq’s support for the Palestinian cause and called on other countries to recognize Palestine and enable it to exercise its legitimate rights.
