Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) – Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Monday underscored the importance of fostering a culture of volunteerism in environmental protection, noting the role community initiatives play in preserving natural resources and expanding green spaces.
He pointed to the ongoing national campaign against littering, organized by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with public and national institutions.
Speaking during a meeting with Director and members of Hareer Leading Organization for Social Development, part of a series of outreach sessions with youth groups and civil society organizations, Adwan stressed the ministry’s commitment to building partnerships, supporting youth-led initiatives, and aligning them with the priorities of the National Youth Strategy and its action plan.
Hareer Director Nihad Dabbas outlined the organization’s volunteer work in promoting sustainable development, including programs supporting children and the elderly through social and psychological services.
He also highlighted environmental initiatives, such as the “Our Mark for a Green Environment” campaign, which plants trees across the Kingdom to strengthen Jordan’s green cover.
