
Amman, Oct.1 (Petra) –Jordanian Media Credibility Monitor (AKEED) recorded 90 rumors circulated on media outlets and social media platforms during last September.
In its monthly report issued Wednesday, the monitor said Jordanian authorities dismissed a total of 21 rumors during last September, compared to 15 in August, 2025.
The report indicated that security and social rumors ranked top during the past month with 21 each, followed by 19 economic rumors, then came political fake items at 18, while rumors in the public affairs and health fields stood at 7 and 4, respectively.
The monitor noted 83 rumors, representing 92% of the total figure registered last September, originated from internal sources, while 7 others, amounting for 8%, came from external origins.
Additionally, the monitor stated 71 rumors, accounting for 79%, originated from social media, and 19 fake items, representing 21%, came from the media.
