Saudi Arabia Sign MoU in Cybersecurity Field
Riyadh,
1 Oct (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of Cybersecurity on the
sidelines of the Global Cybersecurity Forum currently being held in Riyadh.
The
MoU, signed between Oman’s National Cyber Defense Centre and Saudi Arabia’s National
Cybersecurity Authority, is part of the work of the Security and Judicial
Coordination Committee stemming from the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council. It
aims to integrate efforts, strengthen partnership, and exchange expertise to
protect cyberspace, enhance digital security and stability, and support
bilateral cooperation in cybersecurity. Furthermore, it focuses on developing
national capabilities and readiness to confront and mitigate growing cyber
challenges and threats, thereby contributing to the protection of critical
infrastructure and ensuring a safe and trusted cyberspace.
The
MoU was signed on behalf of the Omani side by Eng. Khamis Salim Al Hajri, Head
of the National Cyber Defense Centre, and on behalf of the Saudi side by Eng. Majed
Mohammed Al Mazyed, Governor of the Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority.
