Stage of Tour of Salalah Cycling Race
Salalah, 7 September 2026 (ONA) — Swiss
cyclist Simon won the second stage of the 6th edition of the Tour of
Salalah cycling race, organized by Dhofar Municipality in cooperation with Oman
Cycling Association.
The Tour of Salalah, which runs until 9 September, aims to
highlight the Governorate of Dhofar’s natural and cultural attractions, boost the
Sultanate of Oman’s presence on the global cycling map and furnish grounds for
organizing races accredited by the International Cycling Union or Union Cycliste Internationale
(UCI).
In particular, the event seeks to
develop the skills of Omani cyclists, discover young talents, raise the
technical level of the sport and promote health awareness.
The second stage of the Tour of Salalah
started from Al Dahariz Beach, headed to Al Mamoura Roundabout, passed by Mirbat
Fort and concluded at Wadi Darbat.
The third stage of the Tour of Salah will be held tomorrow (8 September
2026). It will extend from Taqah Fort to Jabal
Samhan mountain flank—a stretch of 156 kilometres.
