Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra) – Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Imad Hijazin met on Thursday with a group of five-star hotel managers in Amman to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and advance the Kingdom’s hotel and tourism sector.
During the meeting, Hijazin called for enhancing “continuous and effective” communication with all hotels and tourist facilities, noting the need to overcome any obstacles facing the Kingdom’s hotel sector to enhance partnerships in implementing tourist activities and programs.
The minister also highlighted the importance of developing “sustainable” tourist programs to strengthen the Kingdom’s position on the global travel map.
To address challenges, attendees agreed to submit “practical” proposals from the hotels as part of work programs to be presented to the Jordan Tourism Board for approval.
Discussions focused on holding periodic meetings to follow up on implementing these recommendations and achieving the action plan’s goals to further advance Jordan’s tourism and hotel sector.
In turn, hotel managers commended the ministry’s efforts to develop the tourism sector, valuing its “collaborative” approach to support the hotel industry.
This policy helps transform challenges into “unique opportunities that positively impact progress” of the Kingdom’s tourism and hotel sector, they pointed out.
