Participates in Closing Ceremony of Expo Osaka 2025 in Japan
Osaka,
13 Oct (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the closing
ceremony of Expo 2025 Osaka – Kansai, Japan, concluding six months of international
events that brought the world together under the theme “Designing Future
Society for Our Lives.” The ceremony was held under the patronage of His
Imperial Highness Prince Akishino, Crown Prince of Japan and Honorary President
of the Expo’s Supreme Organizing Committee.
The
Omani delegation to the ceremony was headed by Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al
Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for
Culture and Commissioner General of the Oman Pavilion at the Expo.
The
ceremony featured multiple segments, including a video presentation titled
“Countdown to the Future,” welcome speeches by Hiroyuki Ishige,
Secretary General of the Expo Association and Masakazu Tokura, President of the
Expo Organizing Committee, in addition to a performance of the Japanese
national anthem and artistic theatrical performances.
The
ceremony also included the handover of the Expo flag to the next host country
for the 2030 Expo, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the lowering of the
official Expo flag, marking the official closure of the event.
