Amman, October 14 (Petra) – Three child siblings tragically drowned on Tuesday evening in the King Abdullah Canal in the Deir Alla area of Balqa Governorate, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The PSD stated that specialised diving teams from the Balqa Civil Defence Department responded immediately after receiving a report of the incident.
The victims two boys and a girl, aged seven, five and three were found in the canal.
Rescue teams recovered the children from the water and administered first aid on site before transferring them to Princess Iman Governmental Hospital. Sadly, all three were pronounced dead.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
