Vehicles in Oman Increase by 5.6%

Muscat,
11 Nov (ONA) — The total number of registered vehicles in the Sultanate of
Oman increased by 5.6 percent at the end of September 2025, reaching 1,825,032
vehicles compared to September of the previous year, according to data issued
by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Private
vehicles accounted for the largest percentage of the total registered vehicles
in the Sultanate of Oman, at 79.2 percent, totaling 1,446,163 vehicles. This
was followed by commercial vehicles at 14.8 percent (269,473 vehicles). Then rental
vehicles at 2.4 percent (42,937 vehicles). The remaining percentages were
distributed among taxi vehicles, government vehicles, and others.

White
vehicles topped the list of most registered colors with 42 percent, totaling 772,228
vehicles. This was followed by silver at 13 percent (234,867 vehicles). Then grey
vehicles with 186,617 vehicles.

Vehicles
with an engine capacity between 1500 and 3000 cm³ recorded the highest
percentage among total registered vehicles, reaching 54.5 percent, totaling 993,985
vehicles. This was followed by the engine category between 3001 and 4500 cm³ at
22.2 percent (404,421 vehicles).

Statistics
showed that vehicles weighing less than 3 tons accounted for the largest share
of the total registered vehicles, at 90.7 percent, totaling 1,655,501 vehicles.
