Salt, Nov. 24 (Petra) — Al-Balqa Applied University and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) held discussions on Monday to advance joint cooperation in technical and vocational education, as part of ongoing efforts to modernize academic programs and align them with labor market needs.
University President Dr. Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni met with a GIZ delegation that included Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sharbini and John Mountford. The talks focused on enhancing technical education pathways, upgrading training frameworks under the international BTEC system, and strengthening the skills of faculty members through targeted capacity-building initiatives.
Both sides agreed to organize a series of specialized workshops and training programs for the university’s teaching staff, alongside collaboration on developing new curricula that adhere to global standards in technical and vocational education. The initiative aims to improve the quality of educational outputs and better prepare students for emerging labor market demands.
Dr. Al-Ajlouni emphasized the strong partnership between the university and GIZ, stressing that the cooperation marks a significant step toward advancing academic programs, elevating student competencies, and enhancing graduate readiness for local and international employment opportunities.
