Total Length of Roads in Oman Exceeds 45,000 KMMuscat, 22 Aug 2026 (ONA) — The road network in the Sultanate of Oman has continued its expansion over the past five years, with the total length of paved roads rising from 40,546 kilometres in 2021 to 45,659 kilometres by the end of 2025, reflecting the progressive development of the road infrastructure.Data from the Statistical Yearbook 2026, issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, indicated that the total length of single-lane roads reached 41,478 kilometres, while dual-lane roads amounted to 4,182 kilometres. The total length of asphalted roads stood at 44,079 kilometres by the end of 2025.In a separate context, statistics revealed that the total number of new and renewed vehicle driving licences in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2025 reached approximately 527,830, compared to 500,738 licences in 2024 and 338,990 licences in 2021.The data showed that new vehicle driving licences numbered 136,491, against 391,339 renewed licences.
