Ministry of Transport, Communications Launches Specialized Training Programme in Semiconductors
Muscat, 1 Dec 2025 (ONA) — Acting in cooperation
with international experts, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and
Information Technology today launched a specialized training programme in the
field of semiconductors.
The programme seeks to groom a generation of
national cadres who would be capable of keeping pace with rapid developments taking
place in the semiconductors industry, which is considered one of the world’s
strategic foundation of modern technologies like artificial intelligence (AI),
communications and computing.
The programme aims to introduce the stages of design,
production and testing through theoretical training to be conducted in the Sultanate
of Oman, as well as advanced practical application of knowledge in Taiwan.
The trainees were selected from among graduates
in the disciplines of electronic engineering, computer engineering, communications and
mechatronics.
The programme, which runs until 25 December
2025, includes a comprehensive training plan that offers an introduction to the
semiconductors industry, the basics of engineering design, the different stages
of manufacturing, packaging techniques and an introduction to semiconductor
applications in modern systems.
