Aqaba, Dec. 2 (Petra) – Aqaba Governorate, in cooperation with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, (ASEZA) held a coordination meeting on Tuesday to review ongoing preparations for the Christmas festivities and the opening of the Byzantine church in Aqaba.
Shadi Ramzi Al-Majali, ASEZA chief commissioner, and Aqaba Governor Ayman Al-Awaysheh reviewed, in the presence of relevant bodies, the work plans and necessary arrangements to ensure the success of the religious celebrations and the inauguration ceremonies of the Byzantine church.
Participants discussed arrangements and the readiness of teams and specialized staff to facilitate events in the churches and the lighting of the Christmas tree, in addition to preparations for opening the Byzantine church as a prominent religious and historical landmark. They stressed the need to provide all requirements to present the occasion and the archaeological site in a manner befitting their significance.
The participating bodies affirmed their full readiness and coordinated efforts to ensure safe, orderly events that reflect Aqaba’s image and reinforce the values of fraternity and coexistence that characterize the governorate.
