Amman, Dec. 2 (Petra) – The Malaysian Embassy in Amman on Tuesday launched its “Visit Malaysia Year 2026” campaign during an event aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation with Jordan and expanding partnerships with the local travel sector.
The event, organized in cooperation with Tourism Malaysia, brought together representatives from the travel, hospitality and airline sectors; media partners; and members of the diplomatic corps.
Malaysian Ambassador to Jordan Mohamed Nasri Abdul Rahman said his country is keen to deepen tourism and cultural exchange with Jordan, noting that the Jordanian market is one of Malaysia’s key sources of visitors in the Middle East.
He said the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign aims to attract 47 million international visitors and generate 329 billion Malaysian ringgit (about $80 billion) in tourism revenue. The campaign, he added, will showcase Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage, natural beauty and family-friendly attractions, as well as its renowned hospitality.
The ambassador noted that Malaysia continues to grow as a preferred destination for Jordanian travelers due to its Muslim-friendly environment, widespread availability of halal food, and convenient access through direct or easily connected regional flights. He encouraged Jordanian tour operators to expand partnerships with Malaysian counterparts to design packages tailored to families, students, adventure travelers and honeymooners.
The event featured cultural performances and multimedia presentations highlighting Malaysia’s top destinations, including Langkawi, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur, along with segments on eco-tourism, medical tourism and education. Jordanian travel agencies expressed strong interest in enhancing joint marketing initiatives in the coming year.
Guests were also invited to explore Malaysia’s natural beauty and cultural richness during “Visit Malaysia Year 2026,” a national campaign aimed at strengthening global ties and bringing nations closer together.
