Amman, Dec. 9 (Petra) – The Directorate of Scholarships at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Tuesday, in cooperation with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), the adoption of the humanitarian case status for household heads with disabilities, in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law No. 20 of 2017.
The directorate said in a statement that the ministry will recognize long-term impairments affecting neurological, physical, sensory, intellectual, or psychological functions verified through the identification card issued by the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as a humanitarian case enabling the children of these household heads to compete for grants and loans offered by the ministry.
The directorate called on household heads wishing to allow their children to benefit from this humanitarian case to visit the council’s website at https://hcd.gov.jo/ or to contact the council’s liaison offices in one of the kingdom’s three regions.
